Parker Bohn III Scholarship Tournament Rules

This tournament is certified by the USBC

Eligibilty

  1. The Parker Bohn III Scholarship Tournament is open to USBC Youth Members ages 17 and under on or before July 31, 2025.

  2. USBC Youth Membership: Bowlers must have 2025-26 National membership prior to the start of competition. You may purchase a membership here.

  3. Junior Gold Membership: Bowlers must have their Junior Gold Membership in order to compete in a Junior Gold Qualifier for the 2026 Junior Gold Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For more information about the Junior Gold Program, please visit click here.

Format

  1. Divisions: There will be 5 age-based divisions. U12 Mixed, U15 Girls, U15 Boys, U18 Girls and U18 Boys

  2. Each squad will be limited to 52 bowlers per squad.

  3. Pattern: Bowlers will compete on a sport compliant lane condition for all rounds of singles competition. Pattern will be posted on Monday, September 8, 2025.

  4. Re-racks: Bowlers will be allowed 2 re-racks per game.

  5. Side Events: Junior Gold Qualifiers and High Game Jackpots will be available to enter on site. 

  6. Qualifying: Qualifying squads will consist of 5 scratch games. After the last qualifying squad, the top 16 (based on 64 entries) will advance in the 5 age-based divisions to the finals. All 5 qualifying squads will be combined for the qualifying standings.

  7. Bowlers will be able to bowl multiple qualifying squads with their highest score advancing the the finals.

  8. Finals: The finals will be a 16 person 2-game total pin-fall double elimination bracket.

  9. Championship matches will take place inside Bohn's Elite Training. 

  10. All bowlers advancing to the finals will receive SMART scholarships.

Entry Fees

  1. Qualifying squads will cost $80.

  2. Qualifying Squad 1 (Friday, September 19 at 9 AM) will cost $70.

  3. Cash and PayPal will be accepted for walk-in bowlers.

  4. Pre-registered bowlers must check-in 30 minutes prior to start time.

  5. Walk-in entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and will cost $80.

  6. Entry fees will be refunded for squads bowlers do not bowl. 

  7. Online entries will close Sunday, September 14 at 11:59 PM

Attire

  1. PB3 Dress Code will be in effect during all rounds of competition. Collared, mock, or crew neck bowling shirts are required. Name shirts are preferred, but not required.

  2. Males: Dress slacks, pants or shorts are required. Females: Dress slacks, dress shorts, skirts, or skorts are permitted. Skirts, skorts, and shorts must be longer than fingertip length when standing with arms at side.

  3. NO JEANS, NO SWEATPANTS, NO LEGGINGS, NO T-SHIRTS, AND NO HATS ARE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME DURING COMPETITION. 

  4. NO HEADPHONES WILL BE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME DURING COMPETITION.

Prize Fund

  1. Scholarships will be awarded in all 5 divisions.

  2. Scholarships will be awarded based on a 1:4 ratio.

  3. Bowlers who bowl more than one squad and qualify in the cut number more than once, their lower score(s) will move outside of the cut number and they will receive the first scholarship spot outside the cut number based on their 5 game total(s). Bowlers advance to the finals who receive scholarship outside the cut number will only receive scholarship for their highest 5 game total (ONLY ONE).

  4. 1st place $1000 based on 40 entries in each division.

  5. Top 3 will receive trophies.

  6. All scholarships will be placed in the bowlers SMART accounts within 30 days of event completion.

Tie Breakers

  1. Ties to make the finals will be broken based on their highest last game in their 5-game total. If both bowlers tie game 5, the tie will go to game 4 and so on if necessary.
